About Nanci Morris

Nanci has been in the Bristol Bay sport fishing industry since 1986. Prior to that she spent two years guiding in the Kenai/Homer area of Alaska. She has become well known in fishing circles both nationally and internationally, having been invited in 1993 to Italy as a fishing personality. Nanci has gained further notoriety by capturing several world fly rod records, including striped marlin. She was featured on an Alaskan series produced nationally by Field and Stream in 1996 named "Field and Stream Legends". Two other, smaller productions have featured Nanci in Bristol Bay and she was also featured on "Fly Fishing the West" while hosting a long range fly fishing trip from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas in 1994. Because of her abilities numerous articles have been written about Nanci, Katmai Fishing Adventures and Bear Trail Lodge. Publications have included well recognized Alaska Magazine, Sports Afield, Fly Fisherman and Fly Fishing. She is a part of the G. Loomis professional fishing team, the field tester for Damsel Fly Inc., on the guide team for Willie Boats and hold several other professional affiliations. Because of Nanci's unique niche in the fishing world, her marketing strategy revolves around her contacts, both past and present. Over 70% of the customer base at Bear Trial Lodge and Katmai Fishing Adventures are realized from past clients and referral business. The balance of the clients are generally found through her other activities. Nanci participates in schools, seminars and demonstrations nationwide. Each year she is invited to participate in slide shows, casting demonstrations, fly tying demonstrations and speaking presentations by various clubs, groups and other business'. Through these contacts the client base for Katmai Fishing Adventures is enlarged each year.
